Manuel Perez began training for combative arts at an early age of 6 years old when his father took him to his first martial arts class. At the age of 13 years old he earned his first black belt. He continued on towards adult hood and joined th US Army as an infantryman. He ultimately served as a company special operations sniper. Upon exiting the army he attended the police academy in Florida and became a police officer. Early in his police career his agency awarded him its highest medal, the medal of valor for bravery and heroism in the heat of battle. This was earned when he single handedly confronted an armed violent felon and engaged him in hand to hand combat in an effort to affect an arrest. In his final act of bravery during the incident he was forced to shoot and kill the assailant to prevent further attack. Since then Manuel Perez continues his career in Law Enforcement with the rank of Sergeant. He is also a general police instructor, firearms instructor and field training officer. Manuel Perez is also an avid outdoorsman, survivalist and angler.
